Our group is interested in light-matter interactions in quantum optoelectronic devices. We are specialized in the ultrafast time-resolved investigation using a femtosecond (fs) laser from visible to terahert (THz) ranges. Being capable of measuring “fast” transients of optical and electronic phenomena, we are able to probe optoelectronic photoresponses down to sub-micrometer (sub-µm) with sub-picosecond (sub-ps) resolution. We fabricate the nanoscale devices, measure the electrical transport, and investigate the associated quantum optical phenomena. Target quantum phenomena include “fast” optical manipulation of novel quantum degree-of-freedoms in van der Waals materials, topological insulators, and quantum plasmonics toward developing next generation of quantum optoelectronic devices.
